Why does THCV attract customers?

What is THCV?

Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THCV, is found in the cannabis plant. It is produced as a by-product of cannabigerovarinic acid (CBGVA), which is broken down by an enzyme into tetrahydrocannabivarinic acid (THCVA) and converted into THCV through a decarboxylation process.

It is similar in chemical structure to THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) but has a two-carbon shorter side chain. The different structure determines its specific properties. Although THCV was discovered in 1973, it is not yet nearly as popular as some other cannabinoids, such as CBD, CBG or CBN.

Effects of THCV

THCV interacts with the endocannabinoid system, a cellular signalling system, and can thus influence various processes in the body.

In small doses, THCV has no psychoactive effects. However, some users mention that it causes changes in the perception of sounds or colours. THCV is also said to have the ability to improve concentration and productivity, suppress appetite and contribute to relaxation.

Not much is known about the side effects of THCVs. It is thought that at higher doses, some of the side effects attributed to THC, such as dry mouth, red eyes or increased heart rate, could occur.

What can THCV help with?

Like other cannabinoids, THCV is still the subject of scientific research. Various studies suggest its therapeutic potential for these problems:

  • Parkinson's disease
  • Inflammatory processes in the body
  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Anxiety, panic attacks
  • Osteoporosis

Decreased appetite, obesity, diabetes

Your customers will be wondering what the truth is about the fact that THCV can help with weight loss. Indeed, some research sconfirms that THCV reduces appetite, increases satiety and regulates energy metabolism.

Thus, it seems that it could be useful in the treatment of obesity because it blocks the same receptors as obesity drugs, thus reducing appetite. At the same time, it does not have the unwanted side effects of some of these drugs (such as rimonabant, banned in 2008).

Other studies have shown a strong effect on lowering blood glucose and liver triglycerides. THCV appears to restore insulin sensitivity, for which reason it could be useful in addressing metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes and serve as a model for the development of new active agents for glycaemic control.

Other possible uses of THCV

In addition to aiding weight loss and diabetes, THCV has been shown to promote bone cell activity via the CB2 receptor, so combined with its beneficial effect on inflammation, it could be useful for osteoporosis. A 2012 study published in the scientific journal Frontiers in Endocrinology showed that THCV can also stimulate collagen production.

At the same time, THCV, like some other cannabinoids, has shown potential in alleviating symptoms of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease. Through its action on the serotonin receptor subtype 5HT1A, THCV could also improve a number of neuropsychiatric diseases such as schizophrenia, anxiety and depression.

Research is providing important insights into the therapeutic potential and pharmacological properties of THCV. However, it should always be taken into account that there are not yet enough relevant studies on efficacy, safety and side effects, and much research relies only on the results of animal testing.

THCV products

THCV edibles, tinctures and gel capsules are available on the foreign market. Here you can get this cannabinoid in the form of brand new filled cartridges for vaporizers. These cartridges have a volume of 1 ml, a standard 510 thread and contain two more cannabinoids - CBG and CBN. You can offer customers THCV cartridges with terpenes from Blue Dream, Green Crack, Sour Diesel and Super Lemon Haze varieties with 20% THCV, 60% CBG and 20% CBN. The combination of cannabinoids ensures that the substances work together to maximise the effects, the so-called entourage effect

Conclusion

The cannabinoid THCV is a less widespread but completely unique cannabinoid that you can add to your range. Although it is not yet widespread in the Czech Republic, its unique properties and potential therapeutic effects are attracting the attention of customers. THCV can promote concentration, improve productivity and contribute to relaxation. Studies suggest that this cannabinoid could also be useful in weight loss and in addressing a variety of health problems such as Parkinson's disease, inflammatory processes, obesity, diabetes and osteoporosis.

We now offer brand new vape foam cartridges with 20% THCV enriched with other cannabinoids and natural terpenes. Respond to the demand for THCV products in a timely manner, offer customers innovative products, and gain a competitive advantage.
