What will be the path of CBD in the coming years?

Unstoppable growth

CBD is growing in popularity everywhere in the world, but the most visible progress is in the US, where one in three people have tried a cannabidiol product at least once, and less than a quarter use CBD regularly. More and more entrepreneurs see this as a business opportunity and a way to grow their business. The market for CBD products is expected to grow at an annual rate of over 21 per cent in the coming years, at least in the US.

Products are increasing

CBD drops (oils) have long been the most popular CBD-containing products. They are easy and quick to administer, with compact packaging, palatable taste and onset of effects within minutes. CBD capsules, CBD gummies, flowers, sprays, patches, liquids, as well as lubricating gels and suppositories are also available. You can choose from a wide range of topical products (from warming ointments to tonics, creams, shampoos or CBD-infused plant butters). An interesting alternative are gummies or fizzy bath bombs to promote relaxation.

CBD for all

As awareness of cannabidiol spreads, more and more people are taking CBD. It's no longer the ingredient associated with demonised cannabis (because of THC), but a substance that can relieve sleep problems, chronic pain, inflammation and anxiety, or ease the progression of autoimmune diseases. The World Health Organisation has confirmed that CBD is safe.

Cannabidiol is no longer just a solution for a certain group of people. As people talk about its potential benefits and effects on the human body, interest is growing across all ages. With the exception of pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with liver disease or low blood pressure, and those who regularly take strong medications that are at risk of contraindication, CBD has no limits. Cannabidiol can be administered to adults and children or pets. However, always consult a doctor beforehand and closely monitor the body's reactions.

CBD is popular among users, and people administer it to children and pets after consulting a doctor or veterinarian.

Bank support

Many banks shy away from CBD (and other cannabis products) dealers. From their point of view, it is a risky segment that they do not want to support. Businesses have to look for other alternatives and payment methods. There is no indication that the situation will change in the coming years. While individual countries are relaxing the rules on CBD, legalising it and allowing its use for medical purposes, a reserved attitude is still evident.

Research and doctors

CBD has been the subject of the most research and studies of all cannabis ingredients. However, research is still at the beginning. Research suggests that CBD may help with insomnia, pain, inflammation or anxiety, for example, and may have a positive effect on reproduction and help with other health complications. But we still only know a fraction of what cannabidiol can actually do or how it affects the human body in the long term. On the other hand, there are more and more doctors who see the potential in CBD and recommend cannabis after assessing the patient's condition and possible contraindications with the medication they are taking.
