Imaginative packaging extends to the world of cannabis

Etiquette is half the battle

You look at any cannabis product and you start researching it. It is packaged and labelled with brief information. On the one hand, you may feel that the label is superfluous and given too much importance, but the opposite is true. It is the first thing that catches your eye (even before the product itself). And the design of the label gives you a picture of the producer, their approach to work and the individual ingredients. It reflects the company's philosophy.

As a manufacturer, you can play with the design, choose different shapes or structures, match the graphics with the font. Don't forget that you need to squeeze all the legally mandated information on the label, such as the name of the product and manufacturer, expiry date, composition, country of origin or net proportion of the main ingredient and other parameters.

Opaque labels with simple shapes look best on dark CBD oil bottles, which are best suited for this type of product to maintain quality. But when you explore the range, everyone takes a different approach and you'll find a really diverse range of different designs. Some people prefer simplicity, others like originality. But the truth is that once the eye has rested on the label, the first impression will influence the opinion of the product itself.

The packaging material must not stand aside

After the anti-plastic packaging campaign took off, many manufacturers and shops switched to paper bags and pouches or fully recyclable plastics quite smoothly. But without printing or branding, it's money wasted. Just have a logo stamp made and label each package with it. Stickers or seals are also interesting.

Always try to make the packaging (bags, pouches, sleeves) correspond as much as possible with the goods you are sending and the range of the shop. This will give your customers the feeling that you understand, believe in and enjoy your work. For cannabis products, the motif of the plant is offered, but the representation of chemical formulas is also interesting.

Selling quality products is not enough. Focus your packaging, decorate the boxes and personalise all the packaging material. You will be memorable.

Surprise from the carrier

Of course, you're the one behind the package, not the carrier, but if the customer is looking forward to the shipment, a vague box that doesn't welcome them and doesn't instill joy in them will needlessly take points away from you. Labels, stickers or personalised stickers won't strain the budget and will elicit positive feedback. It's simple, cheap and effective. It's little things like this that can rack up valuable plus points.

Something extra always counts

Boxes, bubble wrap, merchandise. The invoice is usually sent electronically already, and paper is only on request for conservation reasons. This kind of package composition is perfectly fine, but it doesn't impress or offend. The customer appreciates it when you try to approach them. Discount coupons for your next purchase are appearing more and more often, but there are many more options.

Unboxing leads

We live in a digital age and we need to adapt to that. Unboxing is a great way to entice customers, to show them who you are, how you think, where you're going. You can showcase the brand and products you stand behind.

It's a recording where you create a situation in front of a camera and receive, unbox and test a product. You explore it as if you were a customer yourself. You put yourself in their shoes, you can play expert, you can be crazy, you can invent experiments, you can disprove preconceptions. In the end, just share on social media and wait for the response. If you want to spread brand and product awareness even further, reach out to a familiar face to do the unboxing for you. This will give the impression of objectivity among people.
