What is 10-OH-HHC?

10-OH-HHC stands for 10-hydroxy-hexahydrocannabinol. It is the hydroxy derivative of HHC (hexahydrocannabinol), which is formed by oxidation of HHC with the help of the enzyme cytochrome P450 – present mainly in the liver.

The production process of 10-OH-HHC involves chemical synthesis from HHC.

10-OH-HHC differs from HHC in that it has an added hydroxyl group (-OH) at the 10th position of the hexahydrocannabinol nucleus, which increases the solubility of the substance and changes how the molecule interacts with the body's receptors in the endocannabinoid system, therefore 10-OH-HHC offers different effects than HHC.

10-OH-HHC has psychoactive effects, although probably less intense than HHC, HHCP or THC. It may affect perception, induce feelings of euphoria and relaxation or increase appetite.
